This week was absolutely ridiculous. Finals kicked my ass and so did the ATI exams. The wait was unbearable, yet I didn’t even want to look at my computer and see whether or not I passed. Finally, I looked at my grades and I was so relieved to see that I advanced to the next quarter. Unfortunately, I lost a couple classmates that didn’t make above 80% to pass. Nursing school is a very humbling experience.
Thank God this week is over.
One time my boyfriend and I woke up one morning and he groggily says, “What’s the status on my Lasix patient?” Without even a moment’s hesitance I said, “Patient is showing signs of cardiac glycoside toxicity”. We turn back over and woke up a few hours thinking, “WTF?!” I’m not sure whether or not it’s a good thing to be having made up medical conversations in the wee hours of the morning. Regardless, it’s pretty much awesome having someone who knows what the heck you’re talking about. Even when you are half-asleep.
